Think of this as conversion rate steroids. But legal. And free.
Most founders skip this step. They spend months building, then wonder why no one’s buying. They tweak CTAs, change button colors, and pour money into Meta like it’s a wishing well.
Here’s the real reason it’s not working: You haven’t given people a reason to care.
This worksheet is designed to fix that in 10 minutes or less. You’ll figure out:
- Who your product is actually for (hint: it’s not “everyone”)
- What painful problem they actually want solved
- How to say it all in one sentence that doesn’t suck
- How to pressure test it with 3 real humans
Instructions:
Start at the top. Fill it out. Run the 3-human test.
If no one says, “Oh sh!t, that’s me” go back to step one and be more honest.
1. Section: Define Your Target
- Heading: Who are you building for?
- Prompt: Describe your ideal customer in one sentence (e.g., "First-time Shopify founders," "Remote engineering team leads," "Parents managing childhood diabetes").
- Property: Customer Persona (text field)
2. Section: Identify the Problem
- Heading: What painful problem are you solving?
- Prompt: What keeps your persona up at night? Describe the emotional, financial, or productivity pain (e.g., abandoned carts costing $2k/week, burnout running live meetings).
